DJs fazem tributo a David Bowie

A mais nova homenagem ao cantor de 61 anos, David Bowie, é o álbum Life Beyond Mars, que foi totalmente produzido por DJs e produtores fãs do trabalho do cantor.

No tributo reuniram grandes sucessos de Bowie, criando versões especiais para algumas das faixas dos álbuns Low, Heroes e Lodger, lançadas na década de 70, época em que o cantor integrou-se na cena eletrônica.

Life Beyond Mars tem data de lançamento prevista para dia 8 de julho, e algumas das faixas estão disponíveis para audição e download no site oficial de lançamento do álbum.

Loveparade 2008

A Loveparade já está com data e local marcados. Este ano o evento terá em seu desfile 40 trios elétricos, e a boa música eletrônica como sempre, é tema central junto com muita diversão e agito.

Atrações como os Underworld, Paul van Dyk e Armin van Buuren já estão confirmadas, pretendendo superar a marca de público da edição do ano passado. Em 2007 a Loveparade conseguiu reunir cerca de 1,2 milhão de pessoas, durante o desfile na cidade de Essen.

O evento vai contar com a equipe dos loveguards, que estarão alertando os jovens sobre os riscos do consumo de álcool e drogas, além de delinear a importância sobre o sexo seguro. Preservativos serão distribuidos gratuitamente no local.

Sucesso desde sua primeira edição em 1989, ocorrida em Berlin, a Loveparade vai acontecer este ano na cidade alemã de Dortmund, no dia 19 de julho.

A Loveparade, desfile musical que reúne fãs de música eletrônica de todo o mundo, espera reunir mais de um milhão de pessoas no dia 19 de julho na cidade alemã de Dortmund.

Os locais do evento para os três anos seguintes já forão definidos e divulgados. Em 2009 a Loveparade vai acontecer nas ruas de Bochum, em 2010 será em Duisburg, e em 2011 em Gelsenkirchen.

Jogo que cria música eletrônica

O Tenori-On é o novo aparelho hi-tech japonês, que foi desenvolvido com base em muitas pesquisas e empenho durante três anos, pelo artista Toshio Iwai em parceria com a empresa Yamaha.

Através de seus 256 botões, o Tenori-On possibilita ao usuário criar música eletrônica, apenas com o toque, desenhando em uma tela de led, de 16x16.

É divertivo e interessante, e apesar de ser dirigido ao público especializado, é uma ótima opção para quem busca novas alternativas para se sentir mais próximo da música digital.

O aparelho pode ser conectado em computadores e até a outros instrumentos musicais através da porta MIDI-out de seu PC, ampliando as possibilidades de criação.

O Tenori-On já está à venda por US$ 1.170, mas por enquanto, apenas nas lojas japonesas.

A escolha das atrações internacionais do Skol Beats 2008 será feita pelos internautas.

Após milhares de posts com pedidos e sugestões dos freqüentadores do fórum oficial do Skol Beats, os organizadores do evento, Ambev e B Ferraz Full Promotion, decidiram selecionar 14 nomes dos mais cotados para se apresentar este ano para promover uma enquete.

E destes artistas e top DJs, os 7 mais votados serão cogitados para se apresentar este ano, dependendo apenas do interesse e tempo de cada um para o evento.

A votação vai até dia 08/06, e no dia 10/06 começará a seleção para as atrações brasileiras.

A organização do evento também pretende permitir que o público escolha, além das atrações, o local e o melhor formato para o Skol Beats 2008.

Tiësto produz faixa para Coca-Cola

O produtor holandês Tiësto, nome de peso na cena eletrônica, agora faz parte da campanha de divulgação We8, da marca Coca-Cola. O DJ produziu uma faixa para a campanha, que foi feita especialmente para as Olimpíadas de Pequim 2008.

Também fazem parte da campanha oito designers e mais sete produtores, que desenvolveram um trabalho em cima de oito temas. Cada designer criou uma embalagem para a garrafa de alumínio, lançamento exclusico da Coca, edições especiais das Olimpíadas, e cada produtor compôs uma música de acordo cada tema.

A faixa de Tiësto, de nome e tema iguais, "Global Harmony", teve a estampa da garrafa desenhada pelo chinês Xiao Xue.

O título We8 foi dado para simbolizar a colaboração e a união entre as diferentes culturas do ocidente e do oriente através dos temas, que além de "Global Harmony", também são "Hapiness", "Healthy World", "Individual Perceverance", "Uplifting Moments", "Human Colaboration", "Active Optimism" e "Peace on Earth".

As Olimpíadas de Pequim terão início no dia 08/08/08, finalizando no dia 24 do mesmo mês. Uma curiosidade sobre tantos números 8, é a superstição dos chineses, que tem como representação do número a prosperidade, a sorte e o poder.

Concurso de Remix

O site Beatport e o Beatportal acabaram de firmar parceria com o astro das pistas, o DJ Paul van Dyk. Para quê? Juntos, eles lançaram um concurso de remix, onde a música "Far Away" é a escolhida para os participantes mostrarem seus potencias como remixers.

A música faz parte do álbum In Between, último lançamento de Paul van Dyk, em 2007. Os três melhores remixers serão premiados e as versões feitas pelos vencedores serão incluidas no EP que o DJ irá lançar após o concurso.

O remixer que obtiver o 1º lugar, irá ganhar o pacote do software de produção musical Ableton Suite, além de US$ 100 de créditos para gastar no Beatport, e também o Pacemaker, um novo aparelho de mixagem portátil que está virando febre entre os DJs.

Serão duas etapas. Na primeira os participantes deverão enviar seus remixes até o dia 2 de julho. Na segunda, do dia 3 até o dia 23 de junho, os remixes serão disponibilizados para audição, para a realização de votações através do site Beatportal. Usuários do site também poderão votar.

Moby (Perfil)

Richard Melville Hall, mais conhecido como Moby (11 de setembro de 1965 no Harlem, New York) é um cantor e artista de música eletrônica estadunidense. É conhecido por singles como "Go", "Porcelain", "South Side" (com Gwen Stefani), "We Are All Made of Stars" e "Lift Me Up". Já lançou outros trabalhos sob nome Voodoo Child, Barracuda, UHF, The Brotherhood, DJ Cake, Lopez e Brainstorm/Mindstorm.

O nome de Moby é derivado do clássico de Herman Melville Moby Dick. Moby cita que o autor é um de seus ancestrais na família Melville, então escolheu o nome como um tributo.
Mora atualmente em Nova Iorque em Little Italy, onde já vive há mais de uma década, perto do apartamento de David Bowie.

Moby espalha clones pelas ruas

O produtor e DJ Moby resolveu divulgar seu novo álbum Last Night usando diferentes estratégias em alguns países da Europa e na América do Sul.

Na América do Sul, a Argentina foi o país que entrou na jogada. Atores, todos fantasiados de galinha, entregaram gratuitamente cópias de Last Night para diversos DJs e emissoras de rádio. O novo álbum chegou às lojas esta semana.

Na Europa Moby passou pela Rússia, Bélgica e na Inglaterra. O DJ tocou para 1000 convidados exclusivos, ganhadores de uma promoção, em um club de Londres, que também contou com apresentações dos DJs Mylo e Trentemoller.

E, em Moscou, Moby e sua equipe colocaram nas ruas da cidade um grupo de atores usando máscaras do DJ. Como estratégia de marketing, o evento foi organizado em parceria com o site Live Journal. Mais ao final, Moby conversou via satélite com o público, aparecendo através de um telão, respondendo perguntas e apresentando com a câmera nas mãos, seu apartamento.

Já na Bélgica, o DJ marcou um show surpresa para promover Last Night. Tocando em um bar na cidade, as pessoas, ao passarem em frente e perceberem de que se tratava de Moby tocando, ali, sem mais nem menos, se juntaram para prestigiá-lo. A aglomeração foi tamanha que a polícia precisou interditar a rua do bar.

Fatboy Slim nega mudança de nome

O DJ e produtor Norman Cook desmentiu sobre as recentes notícias alegando que ele irá mudar de nome artístico, abandonando seu pseudônimo mundialmente conhecido Fatboy Slim.

Uma fonte que trabalha na gravadora do DJ disse que Norman planeja manter o apelido e pretende apenas trabalhar em um projeto paralelo, com outro nome.

Ontem, notas publicadas em diversos sites, contaram sobre a possível pretenção de Norman Cook trocar de nome artístico e que o DJ se recusou a contar como passaria a ser reconhecido em entrevista. Norman brincou dizendo que iria passar a se chamar Madonna.

"Sim, vou deixar de lado o nome Fatboy Slim, mas não posso dizer qual será o novo. Irei recorrer à 5ª Emenda nesta questão e não comento nada sobre isto, pois poderei entrar em uma encrenca. Irei mudar meu nome para Madonna.", ironizou o DJ durante a entrevista.

Fedde Le Grand & Madonna

"Music, makes the people, come together", foi o que a musa do Pop cantou durante sua apresentação em Nova York, na semana passada, para divulgação de seu novo álbum Hard Candy, lançado no final de abril.

Mas, o que deu um impulso extra de energia ao público foi o sample do mega hit do DJ e produtor Fedde Le Grand, "Put Your Hands Up For Detroit", usado durante a execução da sucesso "Music", de Madonna.

"Hey Mister DJ, put a record on", anunciou Madonna, a participação de Fedde Le Grand. E o DJ holandês garante que houve confidência absoluta de sua contribuição até o primeiro show da cantora.

E Madonna, que não deixa escapar uma oportunidade, aproveitou e deu um beijo, durante show no dia anterior, em uma mulher. A cantora deu um beijaço na boca de uma fã francesa que subiu ao palco.

Após o feito, Madonna disse ao público: "Porque tenho esta relação com os franceses? Sempre sonhei em trabalhar com franceses, e dar beijos 'à francesa' neles."

Este foi o primeiro show em Paris, na França, que a diva fez, após 10 anos sem se apresentar na cidade.
